Digi Pack- Back album cover

When Workings on the Back of our album cover there was a few more things that we needed to include for example the barcode and the record label logo. This is a convention of a digi pack and appears on the majority digi pack. we also included some fine print about who was involved in the album and about the record label just like a draft suggests. However when creating our draft at first we did not want to include a image on the back of our album cover hover when working on it we found an effect on Photoshop that we really like and we thought would be effective on the back of our album cover. we used the same image as the one on our tour poster and used an effective to change it into a silhouette. We also used our font that we found in our font research and created how we wanted to space out our song titles. however when we put it on to the back album cover we wanted to make the text of the songs white to fit in with the red white and blue theme of our digi pack.

Digi Pack- album cover progress

This is the Photo that we wanted to use for the front of our album. We chose this picture because we liked how the picture included the name of what we wanted to call our album. we also like how the were all wearing similar black clothing which we felt would stand out on the album cover.

We then used Photoshop to remove the background from the picture which means that it would be transferred onto a background of our choice. We also liked there makeup in this photo as it stands out.

This is when we put it onto a new background we experimented with the colour of the background. We also used our font research to see which font looked the  best. As part of our progress we experiment with the sizes of text and the picture.

Digi Pack- Magazine advert for a album and tour progress

This is the image that we choose for our tour poster. We really like this image due to the high quality, the angle of the image and also the lighting. We also liked this image because we liked the groups facial expressions as they are strong and look confident and that's what we are trying to portray to our target audience. We also like there clothing and we think it represents them as individuals.

We then cut that photo out using Photoshop. On Photoshop we used a magic wand tool and also background eraser tool. We did this so it could be transferred on to our tour poster.

We put the cut out image onto a red background as this is the colour background that we wanted. We then used our font research to try different fonts to see what they looked like with the image and also on a red background. When creating this we followed the draft we had made closet and we only had to change a few things such as the size of the image and some of the text.

Digi Pack- Photo options

On the day of our filming we also did a photo shoot so we could get some pictures to put onto our digi pack of the whole group together we take a variety of shots with different backgrounds, lighting and costumes. This meant that we would have more of a variety to choose from and we could pick the best one. We think that these photos represent our group well and are suitable for our target audience.

Digi pack- Font Ideas

This is some of the ideas that we looked at when looking at the different fonts that will go on the back of our album. This will be the font that all the song titles will be in. They will be lined up going down the centre of the album we are also going to have all the song titles in the same font.

This is the font options that we look at when choosing the font for our groups name. We liked the bold titles and the ones that look sharp and however we didn't like the one that looks like handwriting as we did not think that  his represented our group.

On the front of our album cover we wanted to have each members of our groups signature. We managed to find a website where we could create our on signatures and this picture shows some of our favourite signature for each member. We wanted them to look realistic and also girly.

Planning our Filming

These were some extra things that we needed to do to make sure that we were fully prepared for our filming.

Equipment That we will be using

For the day that we will be filming we will be borrowing two high quality cameras and also two tripods which will be different sizes which will enable us to get different angles.

Planning for the Projector

When using the projector we will need to connect it to a laptop so we are able to play the background that we want for our video. To do this we have created a PowerPoint slide with different colours on it that we can play on a loop as the background of our video. We can also change the speed of which it plays which means we can have it fast of slow depending on the pace of the song that we are filming. we have also used different transitions to make it more interesting. We will however only be using the projector in the Dance Drama studio because it has a plain white background and this is where the colours will show up the best.

We have been lucky enough to borrow a moving projector from the PE department at our school.

Cast Members

We made a group chat on a social media site with everyone who was going to be in our video this meant that we could tell them as a group what they needed to bring and also what time they needed to be there. With them all being in the same group chart it meant that everyone wouold receive the same information and also that it would save me and Georgina time as we did not have to tell everyone individually.

Group Roles:
We are going to share out the roles during the day equally. For example when filming we are going to be uses two cameras so we will each have one camera each. We will also share the organisation of the props out so we know who is in charge of each prop this will also ensure that we do not lose any. Working together a group will mean that no time will be wasted as we do not have a lot of it.

Advertising of auditions

This is the poster that we displayed to encourage people to audition for our video. We first advertised this through social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter we thought this was a good way to access out of people who live in this area who might be friends of someone that we know. We also displayed the poster around our school so people who do dance inside school or outside school will be able to audition. We thought this poster was good because it has a lot of bright colours and The title is bold and big so people know exactly what the poster is about. It is also good because all the key information is on it.

Once we had confirmed who we wanted to be in our video we created a group on Facebook so we could confirm what they needed to bring for example costumes.

Digi Pack Draft

Album Title

This is our research for our album title ideas. When looking at the names for our album we wanted to only use one word that had a lot of meaning to it and something that would have a message to our target audience. We used the name of the song we are doing as one of the options as this is a common stereotype used by many artists they name there album after on of there main hits from the album as this is a word that the public will hear when promotion the album and the single so they are unlikely to forget it. We also choose words with similar meaning to the word confident. unique and special as this is what I want me audience to feel when they listen to the album. We decided to use the word Confident as this is very straight forward and the meaning is very specific so the audience will no exactly what it means so it will have a bigger emphasis. This also has a link with one of the words in the song that we are creating our music video to.

Name Ideas for Characters and Group

We needed to decide on which names we wanted to name each individual characters i n our groups. When thinking of the different names we wanted them to be unique and different which the public may not hear that often this will mean the more unique they are the more likely when they hear the name they are likely to associate with the individual in our group. We also believe that the names that we have chosen are different from one another which means that when we style them we can give each name a different style which will separate them from one another but at the same time will have similar aspects so they will also be recognised as a group. In the image above were all the names that we were considering however our final decision was Karyna, Cassie, Isla, Aria and Melanie.

When Coming up with the group name we wanted to think of a name that represents what our group is about and the key words that we and our target audience use to describe our group which is, confident, sassy, genuine and unique. To be able to have a name that we haven't heard before we decided to use a thesaurus and the words above were are favourite when we looked up our key words. When looking at other girl group names we found that most of the modern ones used two words for there group name and was often a word that described them for example Little mix came up with there group name because they are all quite short so that's how they got little and they were form different parts of the country so they had a mix of cultures. When thinking of the group name we also thought about our target audience and how they are at a impressionable age and they will be influenced by this group so we also wanted our group name to be something that we would want our target audience would want to aspire to and be like. This is why we really liked the name true blue because it mean someone who is honest, genuine and loves unconditionally. We also did some target audience research and found that 95% of our sample liked this name the best.

Lyric Annotation

We have made these lyric annotations to go with our storyboard because when we are editing we need to remember which parts we want synchronised with each lyric. this also shows exactly where the cuts are going to go and also the transitions that we are going to use. From this it shows which probe are going to be used in specific parts and also which characters will be miming each part. This is also going to help when we plan our production schedule. I think this annotation is very helpful because it helps us to visualise exactly what is going to happening in each scene that will go with each line of lyrics.
